We are a nation of mobile phone lovers. We love to have the latest and greatest that smartphone technology has to offer in our pockets. However, unless you’re extremely rich, changing your mobile phone is not something that you get to do very often. Therefore, when it comes to choosing your next smartphone, it can be difficult. The choice you make now will affect a daily aspect of your life. And for as long as the next 24 months. Here is a little checklist to make sure you get the one that’s right for you.
Decide how much Data you Need
If you’re a regular on this blog, then it will come as no surprise that many people are clueless when it comes to their data usage. If you’re one of those people, then the best way to find out is to log into your account with your network provider. Or check your latest bill. This will tell you how much data you’ve used from your allowance. It will also show how many minutes and texts you’ve used. Once you know how much data you’re likely to need, you can choose the correct data plan accordingly.
What do you Actually use your Phone for?
This may seem like a bit of a silly question. Ifut if you’re serious about getting the right phone for you, then it’s something that you should be considering. Mobile phones are much more than just a means of making a phone call and sending a text message.
If you love to take photos, then you’ll want a smartphone with a cutting-edge camera. In which case you’ll probably be looking at the latest and greatest offerings from Samsung, Apple and Huawei. If you’re a tradesman or just one of those people who seem to be always damaging their phone, then you may want something a little bit more robust. The CAT smartphone is the perfect solution. If you predominately use your phone to listen to music, then Sony are no doubt one of the best options for you. Each and every smartphone out there has its own party piece and you need to decide what it is that you want from your phone.
When are the Newest Models being Released?
Every mobile manufacturer out there launches its new phones at certain points throughout the year. If you’re an avid Apple fan, then September is the month that you will want to wait for. This is when you will see the latest offerings from them. So, depending with whom your loyalty lies, you may wish to see what the latest releases have to offer before you take the plunge and sign on the dotted line for a brand-new contract. It’s also a good idea to compare the latest releases with the current models of smartphone, not only so that you can see which presents the best value for money, but also you can see exactly what you’re getting for your money.
Apple or Android?
When it comes to talking about smartphones, everyone has asked themselves this question at some point or another. Ironically, it’s the people who prefer the Windows phones that seem to ask this question the most. Either way, you’re bound to know people who are loyal to both smartphone giants. So you will be able to hear the pros and cons of each.
Every year, it gets harder to distinguish which is better out of Apple and Android phones. Whatever you decide to choose, you will get useful features and amazing technology from the latest smartphones that have the most up-to-date software installed. Each and every year, both Android and Apple provide updates for their software, ensuring that you get the most out of your mobile phone.
Shop Around
When it comes to buying a new mobile phone, the advice to shop around is almost always mentioned. The reason for this is simply because it is so important. Check all the best-known network operators to find the best deal possible for your new smartphone. Don’t forget that it’s also worth spending a few minutes to shop around and get the best deal for getting rid of your old smartphone as well. You may be surprised to find out how much it is worth – even if it is over 2 years old now.

Great post! It’s so important to work out how much data you’ll actually need so that you don’t end up wasting your money. And if you rarely take photos, there’s no point getting the phone with the latest camera technology. It’s all about working out what you need. My other tip would be – invest in a decent case! I know so many people who have bought a new smartphone and smashed the screen within the first month.
